160 - Leave Austin Dillon and the Silver Spoons Alone

Download Podcast - 160 - Leave Austin Dillon and the Silver Spoons alone

This one pains me, but we’ve got to leave Austin Dillon alone. He’s rich, privileged, and lacks talent, but we’re worse because We’re resentful.
Why do you work? To take care of your family. To give your son or daughter a better life. That’s what Richard Childress did. What Dillon has is what you want for your own. His luck is his families sacrifice.
NASCAR is nepotistic. It always has been. Jr had Sr who had Ralph. Dale Sr wasnt born into a wealthy family, but he was born into a racing family. He was given the opportunity to work on and race cars at a young age. The King had Lee. Davey had Bobby. Chase has Bill.
We lie to ourselves about what’s important. We don’t really care about Horatio Alger sports stories. If we did, then we would be soccer fans. Everyday, third world children lift themselves and their families out of abject poverty by practicing soccer, but we don’t really care about pulling yourself up by your bootstraps. We only attach meritocracy when it supports the drivers that we like.

You know how this works. At the plate tracks, play drivers in the back. It's not a daily fantasy NASCAR secret. It never was. Maybe one in five plate races are conservative, but the rest are horror shows. Nobodies starting in the back always slide into the optimal lineup at DraftKings.

156 - NASCAR contract transparency and the Media’s cowardice (part 1)

Download Podcast - 156 - NASCAR contract transparency and the Media’s cowardice (part 1)

nascar contractsHemric, tifft, bubba, preece, Byron, Jones = making peanuts
You don't know that…. I don't ...because the media is too scared to cover contracts…
But we will get to that in a second
I don't know for sure…..but there have been plenty of driver comments that have implied that the kids are taking pay cuts to get cars
Adam Stern ...who does a good job with the business end of NASCAR
Says….drivers used to make $5-10 million
And new drivers make $500,000
Those are estimates...they’re helpful…. But heaven forbid we know the actual number
Kirk Cousins can’t hide his $28 million contract ...no one feels sorry for the bums lack of privacy
With the money go buy privacy...pay a company to wash google of the records
Just don't pepper spray some SJWs

Kenseth was replaced by a cheaper option - Erik Jones
NASCAR doesn’t have a WAR stat (win above replacement)
But why overpay for Kenseth...how much more do you get….we can answer that
Kenseth 2017 - avg fin = 14th
Jones in the #20 car in 2018…..   avg fin = 14th
Kasey Kahne
2017: 19th
2018 - William Byron = 22nd …(average running position was 19th)

154 - Is Matt Tifft good?

tifft fantasy nascarDownload Podcast - 154 - Is Matt Tifft good?

The answer is no. This isn't even close. Tifft is the new model of NASCAR driver. He's a scab. Team owners pay him much less than veteran superstars, and Tifft either brings with him family money or sponsors. Tifft got started with KBM, a well documented pay-to-play organization.

148 - Fantasy NASCAR Podcast - Brett Moffitt

Download Podcast - 148 - Fantasy NASCAR Podcast

Brett Moffitt lost his job, and no one should care. Spare me the pity party. He got to race a truck for a year and he won a championship. I hope he enjoyed it because the dream is over. NASCAR has never been about just being a good race car driver. The driver has to wear many hats, and I am not talking about taking picture in an M&M hat, then an interstate battery hat, then a JGR hat. NASCAR drivers were the original mechanics. They were the truck drivers. They were the marketing teams. They were the purchasers. They answered the phone calls. Drivers are spoiled now. Drive the car and secure money. If you can't do it, then too bad. If you don't want to do it, then too bad. ABC - Always Be Closing. NASCAR drivers need to work the phones and close the deals. You got leads. Mitch and Murray paid good money, get their names to sell them; you can't close the leads you're given, you can't close sh*t. You ARE sh*t! Hit the bricks, pal, and beat it 'cause you are going OUT! - The leads are weak. - The leads are weak? F**king leads are weak. You're weak! I've been in this business 15 years... -What's your name? - F*ck you! That's my name!

edit - it's Hattori racing, not Obaika.
