NASCAR DFS Actionable Events — Las Vegas Cup Series 2024 Recap

Notes

  • Keselowski - found speed at end
  • Erik Jones - found speed at end (overall Legacy Motor Club struggled)
  • Hocevar - bad final pit stop ...great race. Worked with Crw Chief Luke Lambert at the end of 2023, they seem to have continued their success. Spire is looking good.
  • Ty Gibbs - great recovery from bad pits. Fastest JGR Toyota?
  • Noah Gragson - good run, good restart at end. Worries about Crew Chief Drew Bickensderfer at Phoenix.
  • Does JGR have elite speed? They were in striking position at the end and did not strike.
  • Ryan Blaney was close, but Larson was too fast.
  • Ross Chastain - good recovery, but a 2 tire stop at the end inflated his finish
  • Chase Elliott - lacking speed
  • Alex Bowman - really lacking, hurting without Crew Chief Greg Ives
  • Ricky Stenhouse - solid day, but average — can work at a value DFS NASCAR salary
  • Kyle Busch - Bad pit stops and penalties

  • 0 #1 had to replace the wrap on the hood, #51 changed a steering wrack, #41 backup car, will all start in the rear
  • 3 #71 24th up the track with possible damage to suspension after contact with the wall.  #5 takes the lead
  • 10 #20 18th slow on front stretch with flat right rear tire
  • 11 Caution for #20 - teams take note - take it easy w/ low air pressure
  • 12 Leaders pit: #17, #14, #7, #45, ****#99 two tires all others four tires, #5 6th first with four tires.  #38 penalized for crew over the wall too soon
  • 27 #17 7th loses a right front wheel in turn 1, he had changed only right side tires last caution

  • 235 #7 spins in turn 2 from 18th makes contact with the outside wall
